Is there anything I can do to get the 16-18 zip card?
Thanks

Same situation so hoping for an answer too!

The website is up but this has been in the papers that they can't renew due to the ongoing cyber incident.

“If you have been unable to apply, please continue making your journeys as usual and keep a record of any fares paid. We may be able to arrange a refund once the incident has been resolved and you receive your new photocard

Pop into local tube station and ask staff aswell

Me too. Been trying to order my child’s for a week now.

Digimoor · 23/09/2024 20:24

Any guesses as to how long until they repair/ replace the website?
I need to order a card and it's not a renewal

kiwiane · 23/09/2024 20:31

It is due to a cyber attack - they’ve said they’ll continue to accept cards that are out of date and may refund people that pay excess fares if they keep proof.

If anyone is still reading, below is the current information (1 October) on the TfL website. Expired cards will be accepted until 31 October - show them to staff. It had been reported that train users should buy an Oyster card and keep track of their expenditure to claim back at a later date, but it now seems that National Rail stations will also accept expired cards until 31 October (see below and also a National Rail tweet earlier today).

Acceptance of expired 5-10 and 11-15 Zip Oyster photocards

Children with expired 5-10 or 11-15 Zip Oyster photocards should show their card to staff at Tube, DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth line and National Rail stations (where normally accepted) and when boarding buses or to tram revenue inspectors. Staff will accept expired 5-10 Zip Oyster and 11-15 Zip Oyster photocards until 31 October. This includes 16-year-olds whose 11-15 Zip Oyster photocard expired on 30 September 2024.

We will inform expired 5-10 and 11-15 Zip Oyster photocard customers when they can apply for their next Zip Oyster photocard.

18+ Student Oyster photocard
New university students studying in London cannot apply for an 18+ Student Oyster photocard. Please keep a record of fares paid as it may be possible to arrange a refund once the incident has been resolved and new photocards are issued.

Still no sign of TFL fixing their issues

Needmorelego · 24/10/2024 10:44

Anyone know what's going to happen after the October 31st extension date?
That's only a week away.

Digimoor · 25/10/2024 09:55

Ahhh how frustrating. “we hope to begin accepting applications for new concession photocards again, albeit in a phased way, shortly."

Needmorelego · 25/10/2024 10:27

Despite "valid until the end of the year" the cards don't actually open the gates at the station.
Had to get the chap to let her through.
That must be a nightmare when it's busy full of school kids (this station is used by a lot of them).
TfL are trying to fix it though.

Sandrafantin · 19/11/2024 08:22

And most staff don’t allow kids to pass forcing them to pay full fare!

Needmorelego · 19/11/2024 08:28

@Sandrafantin they should be letting them through. If they aren't you need to report them to TfL.

Needmorelego · 19/11/2024 08:52

@Sandrafantin this is from the TfL website.

Newbieatthis · 19/11/2024 08:56

My kids, both 16, have just been showing the old cards and saying "it's expired" along with many kids I see on trains and buses in SE London, including tubes. They haven't had any problems being allowed to travel

Needmorelego · 19/11/2024 17:11

Apparently you can now apply for renewal of the cards !!
Yippee!

Digimoor · 20/11/2024 14:19

Ordered today. Waiting to see what they do in terms of processing refunds for fares already paid
