Hello Guys,

I don't want to drive into London, so I was thinking of parking my car somewhere within 20 to 30 minutes of central London and catching a train to Victoria Station or somewhere in central London. It would really help if you could suggest the easiest and most convenient place to park and catch a train into London. I will be coming down the M1

coming down tomorrow Sunday 8/9/2024

thanks
Kaz

If it is just a day trip then I suggest parking at Brent Cross - right at the end of the M1 - and taking the tube from there. Parking at the shopping centre is free but I don't know if it is open 24 hours.

@KazNotts the M1 is the north so you would want to be looking at trains into Euston, St Pancras or Kings Cross.
Or you can get the Overground train from Watford.
Or the stations at the start of any of the Underground routes that are north London.
I don't know the M1 that well so I'm not sure of the best place to leave your car but that's the station and routes you need to be looking at.

Luton or somewhere on Thameslink into Kings Cross

Needmorelego · 07/09/2024 15:24

@KazNotts the parking at Brent Cross is free but it seems to be only until 7.30pm on Sundays. That might be to early for your return journey.

Cockfosters is usually recommended on here - plenty of parking (though not for much longer) and one tube into town.

St Albans is further in from Luton on Thameslink. 20 minutes into town and lots of parking at the station. Thameslink goes through London so depending where you need to be you could get off at St Pancras, Blackfriars or London Bridge to pick up the tube.

that sounds Good, St Albans, 20 minutes to Blackfriars is fine, even 40 minutes would be OK. Thankyou
