(Just posted this message in the 'General tips' section by mistake. Apologies if you think you're seeing double! )

We've never been to the Isle of Wight before so thought we'd try it in May. Can anyone please recommend a cottage suitable for two plus an 18 month old? Would prefer a cot and highchair to be provided to keep luggage down!

Not sure which part of the island is best so any advice welcome!

Have you tried the National Trust cottages?
Friends stayed in one next to a lighthouse that was lovely with their 2 LOs.

we stayed in one on a small farm near newport - it was ages ago but it was lovely. Quite central too so good to get to anywhere. Will see if I can find it...

Oh, thanks!

Katyt1, Yes, I've tried the NT. They have some lovely places but no availability. Still not in the habit of booking holidays in advance but now we have our DS I guess I'll have to sharpish!!! I saw the place you stayed at on the web earlier in the week. Thought it looked fab. Wasn't sure of the geography of the island at the time but I understand it's in the middle, so easy to get to everything.

Wheelybuy, that sounds great too although probably a bit too much space for the 3 of us. Will check though to see how much it is.
