Is it possible to rent a holiday cottage for a full month?

I am seriously considering getting away from it all with the dcs for the whole of august. Budget is not a huge factor but I like a bargain if I can get one! I would ideally like somewhere in the North so my dh could join us for weekends and family and friends could stay for a day or two when he is not with us.

Is this a mad idea? Didn't people used to do this in the "golden olden days"?

I am studying at the mo so I am unlikely to ever have a full summer to do this again (unless I go into teaching!)

of course! My brother and his wife rented out a holiday let for a couple of months while they were in between houses.

Sounds great to me - can we come along for a weekend too?

We were looking forward to moving house but the buyer has pulled out just before exchange so I am seriously considering getting away from it and pretending that i live in a lovely cottage with sea views!

If you can get a bargain in august, let us all know and we'll get it declared it a miracle.

Sounds great though. Book soon cos a full month together will be tricky.

Bargain for august, obviously!

I'm not expecting a miracle!

Any recommended web-sites for cottage searches?
