Lake District - days out for teens

We are in the Lakes this week and looking for nice days out for our teen kids. They were suggesting Go Ape but it's ridiculously expensive so wanting to steer them outside the box... any ideas would be very gratefully received. Thanks in advance x

We were there 2 weeks ago and had a brilliant day at the Honister pass and slate mine. All kinds of activities. We just did the basic mine tour but certainly there are options.

A bit out of the box is Muncaster Castle, esp the birds of prey flying displays - never seen anything like it, next level! A beautiful place to visit as well

Easedale Tarn from Grasmere for a swim! Beautiful and free and what the Lake District is about
