Lake District lodges suggestions plus day trips and activities

Hi, Can anyone recommend some nice lodges in the Lake District. I’m not looking for top notch luxury, but not Butlins either. Prefer small sites, rather than all singing and dancing entertainment sites.

Also looking for activities for adults, plus walking routes but not too long in distance (under ten miles).

Thank you.

We stay at a lodge in Fallbarrow every year. The lodges are lovely and the site is beautiful, right on the edge if windermere and isn't just rows of lodges/caravans. It's a "holiday park" but no entertainment just a shop and restaurant on site. It's based right in the centre of Bowness which is ideal.

If you're happy to drive some of our favourite walks are; Tarn Hows, Cathedral Caves, Rydal Cave, Orrest Head and Silver Howe via Allan Banks.

Fallbarrow is also walking distance from the Ferry if you fancied that too.

Lovely views from Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges, and we saw deer and red squirrels from our window. Nearby, we visited the Theatre on the Lake at Keswick, the Lakes Whiskey Distillery and Osprey Watch at Dodds Wood. This was one of the local walks we did https://www.walklakes.co.uk/walk_45.html

Thank you. The website looks good for finding walks, and I liked the one you selected.

I love that the summary of the walk has a ‘bog factor’!
