In hampshire last summer there were thomas the tank days at one of the steam engine places in the summer, whether they are doing another one this year i do not know, it did get crowded though.

Alton, on the watercress line, is the Hampshire one. We did it a couple of years ago at Easter. Dd loved it.

They have one here in Essex which isn't too far from Herts.

Nene Valley Railway near Peterborough do Thomas days but only in school holidays and a few weekends throughout the year. Might be worth checking.

Oblomov · 14/04/2008 14:40

We went to the Watercress one in Alton on Friday. It is totally fab.

Bertolli · 14/04/2008 14:53

so, have checked and the watercress one is not running tomorrow, which is a bummer.

i think maybe drayton manor is a bit far.. 2.5 hours on route planner..probem is we have school til 11.30am which cuts chunk out of day

eek am struggling here, think perhaps we should just go on a real train to london and back.. not exactly the same though

Sorry - thought it was still at Hants this week, but appears he's moved to Kent for 19th / 20th. Doesn't really help for tomorrow, though.
