Birthday meal for 90 year old in the Cotswolds

I have an elderly uncle who lives near Bouton on the Water. He will be 90 in October and we want to take him for a family meal to celebrate his birthday. We don’t know the area well so I’m looking for recommendations for good places to eat please that would take a family of 10 adults. If possible with a separate section for us although that’s not essential.

He prefers English or European style food. We aren’t looking for a Michelin star restaurant or their prices. Equally we want something a bit special that’s not a typical chain pub. He wouldn’t want to travel more than about 30 minutes from his home. He won’t want to go into a busy town like Cheltenham and would need somewhere with easy parking as he has difficulty walking any distances.

Anyone able to help with suggestions?

I really liked Daylesford Organic near Moreton-in-Marsh; beautiful, unfussy place with excellent food.

The Fox in Broadwell is great! As is The Black Horse in Salford (towards Chipping Norton). The Stag in Stow has a great menu and I’ve always had good service there. All are pubs but nicer than your average pub. Not cheap but very few places in the Cotswolds are nowadays and at least the service/standard in these three make the prices worth it.

We celebrated my 40th at The Slaughters Inn in Lower Slaughter and I liked it so much we took my mum back for her 70th! They have a separate room for private dining. It's a pleasant walk from Bourton in Water.

Off the top of my head, I can think that The Frogmill would suit your needs.

I was also going to recommend The Slaughters. Gorgeous setting

Thank you that’s so helpful. Will look at both.
