london venue for mini reunion

A gang of us from work in the 1990s are planning to meet up in London in august. I havent lived there for 18 years although I'm a frequent visitor. I'm looking for suggestions for a lovely place to meet for a long lunch or dinner full of chat and hilarity. Nice food and wine is a must I think. Six of us, Boys and girls (which is confusing me a bit - maybe a lovely pub would be best?(
I'd wondered about the Petersham places in Covent Garden.. but not got beyond that.

Does this mean you'd like somewhere you can be quite loud? So ppl can recommend venues accordingly!

I don't think we'll be louder than any other group of 6 old friends and collegues. But we did all meet as young journalists so there will be a lot of funny stories well told. The main issue may be that some of our own hearing capabilities may have dimmed!
But some space to sit and be comfy while we reminisce and eat would be great
