Im pretty sure i know the answer but it seams all literature is about women.
Well my situation is different being as im a man lol but here goes.
In a nutshell i split with my Ex some 18+ months ago - she was caught having an affair after 20 ish years (unmarried).
Our daughter (early teenager) doesnt have a good relationship with her mother and decided to stay with me in my solo care but i havent dragged her through the sole custody stuff shes just more comfy with me, historically its me who taught her to swim, took her to events and such, basically cared for her every need including doing my very best to guide her through her moons which speaks volumes i think.
We have a very mutual repect for one anothers boudaries and i support her 100%.
I dont ask for maintenance from my ex as i have a good paid job and she (ex) doesnt, its also worth mentioning our daughter was registered at birth under my Surname.
The issue/possible issue...
Im taking her away abroad on my own and my ex is being a bit funny, she has asked for written permission (as i believe is her right) but if she says no given all the above can i still take her being her solo carer? or do i have to apply to the court? or what?
Does that cost money? How much? (sorry its new territory)
The law it seems is very one sided against the father which is bad given my situation as i truely am a great dad and a genuine person. I doubt its relivant but i've always done the planning on holidays and never has it gone awry, the coutry were traveling to is at peace with the world and she isnt in any danger.
Thankyou for your replies ahead of time.
P.s im 42yo if that matters
