Carnivals, shows, UK must sees

Looking for UK travel inspiration.

We’ve done the Somerset Carnivals, Thursford Spectacular show, Dorset Steam Fairs, Beamish & Blists Hill. Those things are some we’ve enjoyed the most, what other things am I missing?

we can’t travel outside the UK for health reasons but we can probably go anywhere in the UK and I’d love to soak up so much more. (Have got NatTrust and English heritage memberships). Have been to a lot of the South of England but I bet we’ve missed places and fab things to do.

Also have a look at Kynren in County Durham

Have you done the Loxwood Joust?

Also, when you say shows, which kind of shows do you like? County shows? Horse shows?
If so then the great Yorkshire show is good, or the London international horse show.

Anything really, especially those that have lots going on.

went to the Bovey Tracey craft festival a few weeks ago, did Chelsea Flower show just before Covid. Not especially into horses but like country shows with all sorts of animals etc.

not really visited middle UK much, have been up to Yorkshire but only really visited historic houses.

went to Agatha Christie’s home in Devon a couple of years ago and enjoyed that.

love an interesting town, went to Totnes when I was at Bovey Tracey and thoroughly all the independent shops (would love to do my Christmas shopping there).
