Windsor / Oakley Court Hotel

In London in 6 week holiday and wanting to go to Windsor for a day as I’ve never been. Is it a full day though? Will have an easily bored 12 yr old with me.

I wondered about a boat trip. Ideally I’d like to do one past the Oakley Court Hotel (Rocky Horror Picture Show castle!) as it’s on my bucket list.

Anyone have any tips of things to do, how long exploring castle area / town etc is likely to take, and whether Oakley Court Hotel is viable.

If you visit on a Friday you could add in a tour of Eton College.
How about afternoon tea at the Oakley Court Hotel. Kills 2 birds with one stone - food and a tick on your bucket list.

Windsor castle could easily take half a day. You want to time it so you can watch the changing of the guard in the morning.
Regarding boat trips, try the Frenchbrothers. They do lots of trips daily. I'm unsure whether any go past Oakley court. As someone else has mentioned, it's worth having afternoon tea or lunch there.

Thank you, I’ve looked at French Brothers - one goes past but it’s a two hour trip end not sure DS would tolerate that. Afternoon tea is a great idea! Have you been? If so, is it as nice as it looks?
