Scotland with young kids

Looking for a few days in Scotland with kids 6 and 3. We've done Aviemore and Crieff Hydro, liked both. Anyone have any other suggestions? We like to do/see things rather than quiet relaxing type holiday. Hotel with a swimming pool a bonus

We go to Dunbar every year, no hotel but stay in a very small caravan park right on Belhaven Beach. There is a surf school on the beach and wetsuit hire. Lots to see in the area, fairly close to Edinburgh too

We always visit Dalkeith Country Park, it’s so lovely, has an amazing playground and acres to explore

What about Edinburgh? Loads to see and do around Edinburgh that kids will love. You could also catch the train to North Berwick for the day if the weather is nice.
