What would you do with one bonus day?

I agreed that my teenager could miss sports day this year (he hates it, and I'm not working that day so I thought it might be nice to do something together).

I feel like I'm forever thinking "I wish we just had one weekday outside of the holidays to go to x place", as weekends and holidays get so busy, and he's not good at crowds.

Now I have one, I can't for the life of me think what to do with it! What would you do?

Alton Towers?

Gaming arcade? Day trip to London for some sightseeing? Pub lunch? I guess it all depends where you are and what your budget is?

TakeOnFlea · 21/06/2024 08:28

I'd imagine Alton towers and the like will be busy today with end of term trips and leavers

DS has been this week and it was fine Wink

Ah that's good. It is Friday though. Although I don't actually think the op meant today having reread it

It's actually mid week next week.

We're in the South West but happy to travel, I did think a theme park might be a good shout.

To be fair, left to his own devices he would just have a long lie in then mooch around places we go anyway, but I'd like to do something where the lack of crowds makes a difference!

I've promised mine a trip to the National Historu museum the next time an Inset is a random Monday or Friday. But thats a bit niche.

summer clothes shopping and lunch out? much more civilised in the week than at weekend

MayoMayoMayo · 21/06/2024 09:36

We've got a random Inset Day on Monday so looking at the weather forecast I'm planning on taking DS to a lido in the Peaks and then lunch/playground at Chatsworth.

But he is 6 so maybe less interest to a teenager? 😆
