Lake District or Isle of Wight?

Planning for September, 2 adults and one 3 year old. Both are around the same price, IoW is a 30 min journey, Lake District is 5 hours but that doesn’t particularly bother us.

It’ll be a holiday park either way. We like outdoorsy things, walks, zoo’s, boat trips which I know can be found in both.

Which would you choose?

I would choose IoW. Shorter journey, better chance of good weather, less hills (while DC is too little to climb them)!

There would have to be a "something" I wanted to do/see in the Lakes to make me choose a 5 hour journey over a 30 min one.
