Leamington Spa - work drinks near station

I’m looking for a nice, quiet-ish venue for corporate drinks in Leamington Spa, up to about a 10-15min walk from the station.

Somewhere with a calm, hotel-bar-style venue rather than somewhere with loud music or sports blaring on TV (couldn’t immediately see any hotels with bars near the station after a quick search).

Maybe a restaurant that would let me book 10-12 people just for drinks? Thanks in advance.

Fizzy moon , maybe. There are so many nice restaurants in Leam, and most of the town centre is within 15min walk of the train station

Or the White Horse , done work drinks there quite a few times

What day of the week? Fizzy Moon might be quiet early in the week, but it definitely won't on a Thurs/Fri!

The Drawing Board is nice - you can go upstairs with a bigger group
The Royal Pug also nice, with a small courtyard
The Star and Garter is more of a gastro pub but has a big bar area
The Moorings is away from the town centre but near the station and you can sit outside by the canal.
1 Mill Street might work well - it's a co-working space, but has a great bar.
The Old Library is probably closest to the station (but I haven't been in for years, since it was The Jug & Jester, so have not a clue what it's like)
The House is another one to look at, but again haven't been since it changed ownership.

Thanks everyone! It will be a Wednesday so hopefully avoiding the noisier days? Will get on to the websites for all of these.

Agree with the Drawing Board, I really like the atmosphere in there and we often go with work. (Ie booking for largish groups is fine) But it's a pub rather than corporate hotel with bar.

I find Fizzy Moon hard work, it's usually busy.

The Old Library is ok, but feels like it needs a good clean and a bit of a spruce up!

I don't think Leamington has many central hotel bar type venues tbh. All the ones I can think of are on the outskirts or near the motorway. House on the parade is probably most similar, in that it's very much a modern bar rather than a pub feel.

The Terrace Bar is very nice.

The Terrace Bar is very nice.

I've never noticed/heard of The Terrace (and have lived in Leamington for 25 years now!) I just looked it up and it looks really nice. Is it by/underneath The Loft theatre? (it's hard to tell from google maps exactly where it is, and the website doesn't have any photos). Would you recommend for a meal, or drinks, or both?

Rhythmisadancer · 10/06/2024 15:58

The Terrace is nice - and it's got the hotel bar vibe you're looking for.

Rhythmisadancer · 10/06/2024 15:59

yes, it's on the corner of the bridge there, so you walk through the outside seating area to get to the Loft

I’ve only been there for drinks on a recent visit so I don’t know about the food sorry. It’s by the Loft theatre. I love Leamington, I consider it my home town, even though I haven’t lived there for over thirty years!

Thanks for all the new suggestions, very much appreciated and I will get to ringing around. The Terrace seems to be winning so far.
