Forest/nature break with a toddler, on a train from London

Hi everyone! My DD is 15 months old and we are planning a 2-night forest/nature break in July. We live in London and don’t have a car. We would like to stay somewhere in the countryside that would be nice for both us parents and our daughter. Something chilled, beautiful nature, a basic but comfortable hotel room, maybe some activities for a toddler like a farm but at the moment she likes to walk and doesn’t need much entertainment. We want to travel by train, with up to 2 hours travel time from London. Could be also a nice hotel with a pool in the middle of nature accessible by train

Recommendations please 🙌🏻🙏🏻

Beaulieu Inn in the New Forest is within easy walking distance (even with a toddler and luggage!) of Beaulieu Road station.

Ooo love it! The hotel and the location. Thank you! see it has white bad reviews on booking. I suppose you’ve been there, what are the things you didn’t like about it?

Also how did you get to the forest? By taxi? And is there anything near the hotel?

@Lavenderlowe It’s literally in the heart of the New Forest so you can go for walks from the hotel, or jump on the train to explore further afield, but oh dear it seems to have gone downhill from when we stayed just before Covid.

The centre parcs at Elvenden Forest is only a short taxi transfer from Thetford station and they have some hotel rooms as well as self catering lodges.

We stayed in brockenhurst in the new forest. Train station there.

I was thinking of Brockenhurst. It’s lovely and has a train station. We camped but I’m sure you’ll find accommodation in the village.

Hey everyone! For those who will be reading this thread - we ended up staying at the Forest Park Brockenhurst and it was FANTASTIC. Big beautiful rooms, nice territory, ponies and station nearby. Highly recommend.
