Back-up plan for a super-exciting day in London

Just got tickets for the live semi-final for BGT and discovered that the tickets don't guarantee us entry.

Well obviously turn up early on the day and keep our fingers crossed, but I could do with an exciting back-up plan as I have two very excited kids!

So, what could we do in London at very short notice on a very tight budget that's almost as exciting as BGT? 😂

Which day are you going to be there? How old are the kids?

We'll be there on Tuesday 28th May and DD are 13 and 11

That's terrible; how can they offer you tickets and expect you to travel without guaranteeing you a place?!!

You might need something to do even if you get in. We queued to get our wrist bands early, then had to kill 5 or 6 hours before going back for the show.

They oversell so they have a full audience, incase of no shows

Are the tickets free?

Quite normal. And I agree with a pp — you may queue, get a ticket and then need to return hours later, so factor in something to do for a few hours, anyway. Where is it filmed?

What's BGT?

ThePanda · 15/05/2024 06:13

I'm doing this too on a different day that week, kids similar ages. I've heard that you should be there 9/10am to queue for tickets, so I've booked a hotel the night before and after as I'm not local.
I think Westfield shopping centre isn't far away, and not too far from Science/Natural History museums either so will be plenty to do nearby once we have our tickets.

BGT is Britain's Got Talent

Filmed at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith

Thanks 👍

Yes tickets are free

You're only a few stops on the Piccadilly line from the Kensington museums -- Science, Natural History and the V and A.
