Can I use my own digital photo on a driving licence?

I currently hold a full UK driving licence, but my photocard actually expired a year ago. aI could renew it quickly and easily online but my problem is I absolute HATE my passport picture. My passport is 6 years old and I had to renew it in a rush, before flying out to a family funeral at the time, so I had a set of pictures done in a photo booth and sent then off. I have a couple of quite nice digital photos of myself that I would be happy to use for my driving licence but there doesn't seem to be a way of using them. If I was renewing my passport I could use my own photos, then use the passport to renew my driving licence. I could get new paper pictures taken on the high street, that come with a share code, but I can't seem to work out any way of adding my own (digital) photo to a driving licence. Does anyone know if this is actually possible?
