Woburn Centre Parcs - any good?

Hi all, we are a group of 12 including kids aged from 7 to 14, heading to centre parcs Woburn. But unfortunately I've been told that centre parcs Woburn isn't great in comparison to the others and that we should switch to Elveden! (Also fairly close to us and it is flat)

We have one big house in Woburn but would have to switch to two adjacent houses in Elveden and this is the big reason I am reluctant to change, as we would really like to be in one place. Is Woburn still good enough for our age range of kids.l? We have never been to centre parcs before so will have nothing to compare it to We also have two grandparents with who struggle with knees but I think our house is in the centre of the Woburn site so maybe we can avoid the hills.

Can anyone offer any insight? thanks!

I prefer Elvedon to Woburn but if you’ve never been before you won’t know the difference! The big houses are right opposite the pool so you should be ok and the activities are the same in each park. Elvedon just feels nicer and more bedded in with the trees. Also, I’m a bit snobby about the clientele at Woburn.

Woburn is my favourite. Elvedean might have a wee bit more in terms of the swimming but the “culture” wasn’t right for us (although the only time we went was about 17 years ago at Easter Weekend)

I imagine kids that age will love the slides at Woburn. I’ve been twice and we’ve enjoyed it both times. Stay clear of the restaurant called Rajinda Pradesh, one of the worst meals I have ever had and a complete rip off!

It's significantly better than Longleat - its an easier site to walk around, and doesn't feel as big. It's also much, much cleaner, although I guess that might be a product of a newer site.

Thank you all - that's really helpful. Think we will stick with Woburn then!

It was brilliant two years ago, I've done longleat, Woburn and Sherwood Forest and loved Woburn

Definitely change to Elveden. The main part of the pool at Woburn is so rubbish looking I actually can’t believe it’s the newest park and they built it like that.

Some people call it ‘Center parcs lite’ .

It also doesn’t have same forest feel in my opinion when you can see the motorway from the car park.

The spa there is lovely. But for a family visit pick Elveden!

Oh no that's the opinion I've heard that got me worried!!! Hmmmmn but I'm hoping Woburn is good enough- it sounds from the other posts it is - especially if we haven't got the others to compare to. I'm very reluctant to move away from the large accomodation in Woburn as it's so nice to be all under one roof with a large living space since we all live in different places and aren't together that often!

I’ve been to Woburn and it was fine. The spa there was great.

Hi - old thread - but wondering how you found Woburn@Whydoihavetopick?

Lisbeth50 · 18/09/2024 21:45

We have been to Woburn twice and really liked it. It was the first one we had visited too. We have since been to Sherwood.

Woburn is smaller and the forest was less well established, but everything was nicer and newer. The activities were pretty much the same at both. I'd probably choose Woburn if I went to Center Parcs again.

Lisbeth50 · 18/09/2024 21:46

Sorry - didn't realise it was an old thread.

Whydoihavetopick · 19/09/2024 06:48

Hi Lisbeth, we didn't go to Woburn in the end - we went to Elveden!

You can't see the motorway from the car park!! It must be two miles away.
