Not what you asked but if you are actually going to the Old Bailey as a member of public you can't take your phone in. There is a travel agents about 100 yards down the road that will look after your phone for a fee.

I have been in on various occasions but not since the pandemic. Very interesting experience. There don't tend to be many members of the public or press but I was never there for a notorious case so that might be different I suppose. I always went to a bao bun type place on the same road for lunch but not sure if it's still there.

Sounds great, thank you. I’m just interested to be inside for a bit. I’ve been inside other courts so want to tick it off.
I’m in London for a few days on my own and trying to do a few ‘different’ things.

@Forgottenmyphone Thank you for recommending here, it was fantastic. I arrived tired, wet, thirsty and peckish not realising that they were just minutes away from closing. The lovely chap offered to serve me a take away in the lobby of the hotel next door which was lovely. Such great customer service along with good food and drink 👍

@FormerlySpeckledyHen Glad you had a great experience. I’ve only ever had fantastic customer service, food and drink there. I hope you can go back again sometime in the future to experience it properly.
