What was your best UK holiday with teenagers?

Ok, so I admit I'm procrastinating on my work this morning and dreaming about holidays (summer 2025!) instead of doing what I'm supposed to be doing!

DC will be 12 and 15 next summer. DH and I are hoping (well, I am hoping, DH is just being dragged along) to go on an adult-only holiday later in the year so I'm wondering what we can do with the DC for a family holiday without breaking the bank. I am just lacking inspiration! What was the best family holiday mumsnetters have taken with their teens in the UK? I'm open to everything - city breaks, something rural.... so far we've done London, York and North Yorkshire, Bristol, Bath, Lake District, Manchester, North Wales and Anglesey, Manchester, Northumberland, Lincoln, Shropshire, Hampshire and the New Forest, Dorset (Swanage) and Skye so all of those are out!! I'd love to take them to Edinburgh as it's one of my favourite cities but August is not the right time to go so that's also out! I was considering another Scottish island but whilst it might be my idea of heaven to spend my days on deserted beaches and hiking, it would definitely NOT be ideal for the DC... What am I missing from my UK bucket list?

Another option is Pembrokeshire, for a cheap holiday I recommend Celtic Camping, they can lay on activities too, unfortunately the company I used for activities folded though

Northumberland
Horse riding on the beach
Lots of water activities. Dolphin and whales.
Seals and puffins.
Harry Potter trips.
They loved it and still say it was a brilliant holiday now they are adults

We love Northumberland. Live fairly locally so often pop up for the weekend. One of my favourite parts of the country.

Thanks @mrssquidink ! Any particular destination in Cornwall? I'd love to go but a bit concerned about crowds....

We have been going for years. It was quieter last year than it has been since 2020. Booking ahead is wise

Just as a general point (slightly away from my original post) but I’ve been looking at cottages in some of these locations and a week in school holidays is coming up about £3k!!! Crikey!!

The prices are bonkers. I want to stay in the UK next year and do Cornwall with teens but I just hate anywhere busy. A lot of people say Pembrokeshire is quieter so I think I will look at that. I have to stick to school hols and even when the kids are older I will as I am a teacher. Prices are crazy.

Belfast & the Antrim coast. Loads of interesting stuff to do in the city and a really fun vibe. Can then do Game of Thrones locations, Giants Causeway and lovely beaches.

Forest holidays - specifically’Forest of Dean’
Kids (teens) loved it
We stayed in the treehouse and you had a huge log cabin and a bridge to access the treehouse . Also huge hot tub and was in middle of forest .
Huge tv and L shaped sofa in kitchen .
Also you could order takeaway to be delivered to your door (man came on bike )
Hired bikes and there’s a bar/cafe that does delicious food on site (think lovely pub food )
Also they do quiz nights
