Restaurant near Middlethorpe Hall - please help!

Hello! I booked Middlethorpe Hall for my 50th birthday and have just realised that the restaurant is closed monday/tuesday. They have a bar menu but it is very limited and I wanted a nice dinner!

It is not their fault - it is clear on the website and I missed it.

Can anyone recommend somewhere near by? My mobility is not great and I would not manage a long walk in York city centre in the evening which limits us as I know parking in the city is pretty difficult.

There isn't really anywhere within walking distance - Middlethorpe Hall is in an odd location between the racecourse and the ring road, and the only restaurant in Bishopthorpe (the nearest village) is only open Thurs-Sat evenings.

There are loads of restaurants in York city centre, I think you'd be best off taking a taxi if you're worried about parking.

Melton's is nice just off bishopthorpe road but is about half an hour's walk so may be a taxi job. I'd recommend it though if you don't fancy going into town proper.

I'd just book somewhere nice in the city centre. It's a lovely hotel but not walkable to/ from anywhere in the evenings. Parking won't be difficult on a Monday night. If you'd rather not take the car, just get a taxi or an Uber both ways.

@Casimira I have always had a nightmare parking in York! Been at least 30 times and always had issues, taxi is the way!

any recommendations for York? Star in the City looks good :)
