Anyone been to Dartmouth in regatta week?

Hi, we’re thinking of going to Dartmouth this summer. We’ve been once before, loved it and want to stay in the same place again but the only week it’s free is regatta week.
Does anyone know how much of a difference that makes? Will it make it more fun or a crowded nightmare?!
We have 3 DS, ages 15, 12 and 9 - DS1 has ASD so we like to return to places for familiarity but also not so keen on huge crowds and queuing for stuff.
Thanks!

We have been (although a good few years ago). We didn’t stay in Dartmouth, instead got the steam train and ferry for the Saturday then a taxi (pre booked) home after the fireworks finished around 10pm.

It was very busy!!
Street performers, market stalls, food vendors, circus skills, races, parades etc.

Thanks! Do you know if it is the whole week long that’s really busy?
I think it may be too disruptive for us sadly unless it’s just a few days
