City break with teen DSs in May

Looking for somewhere I can take 2 boys in early teens in May HT. Travelling from NE, ideally via train but wouldn't mind driving if not too far. We have done London fairly recently, and also Manchester, Liverpool, York, Edinburgh and would like to do something different but feel like I've ran out of ideas.

Ferry to Ireland? Belfast is apparently a lovely city

Isle of Man - beautiful, and often forgotten island. Lots to do there.

We have done Belfast before actually. We loved it.

We did a city break to Birmingham without a car and used public transport for everything. The dc enjoyed Bear Grylls Adventure, Cadbury World, Drayton Manor (surprisingly quick and easy on the bus), ThinkTank, Sandbox VR, Escape Live Peaky Blinders and Back to Back musuem.

Glasgow - beautiful city very underrated IMO - within easy reach of lovely countryside too eg Loch Lomand (Ben Lomond is one of the easier Munros to climb if that’s your bag) and even Perth or Stirling for a day trip

Glasgow is fantastic. Lots of great restaurants (a looong tradition of Italians and Indians settling in the west of Scotland and opening places to eat), wonderful galleries and museums and Buchanan Street is a marvellous place. There's a couple of really central premier inns where you're right in the thick of things and less than a ten minute walk from the station.

Both sound great! Will investigate the bear grills thing as think they would love that.

Glasgow definitely seems like the obvious choice!
