Romantic retreat in central England?

My gf and I are hoping to go away in April for a weekend together, but we're struggling to find the right place. We've been both having a tough time with work/kids/illness etc lately and just want somewhere we can get away and relax and enjoy some time just us.

Can anyone recommend somewhere? We're thinking something rural, we like wildlife and just being away from it all, but primarily we both love quirky places. To give you an idea, we've been looking at tree houses and hobbit holes and so on, but the treehouses weren't 'tree-housey' enough (just cabins on stilts really) and the hobbit holes were in a cluster together and we'd rather a bit more secluded. We found somewhere gorgeous, pic below, but for the dates we need it's out of budget. Is there anywhere quirky, nature related (especially woodland and water), romantic, within a budget of £600-£700 maximum (less would be good!) for the two nights, within a couple of hours travel of North Staffs?

Thanks, Forgottenmyphone. They look interesting, I think the kids would enjoy, I'm going to stick them on the list for a family holiday. For just the two of us though, I don't think that's quite what we're looking for.
