Nice self catering places in/near Liverpool?

When I have looked on AirBNB / Vrbo many of them seem to be done on a 'side business' basis - fairly cheaply adapted places that are without much personality and just the basics.
Does anyone have any recommendations? We are looking for a 3 bed place, but could squeeze into a 2 bed if there were 2 singles in one room.

I've stayed here and it was lovely. Looks old fashioned on pics but beautifully clean. It's about 15 mins on the train in and the station is at the bottom of the road so really handy and Hightown is lovely - right by Formby and Crosby.

I've stayed in posh pads a couple of times and can recommend. Great location and facilities. Just a bit of a devil to find.

Many thanks for these suggestions - might go with 'Posh Pads' but found out that there are 2 football matches on the week that we are thinking of being there, pushing the price up from £169/night to £250. Also thinking of Chester as a posssibility, then getting the train in.
Any other suggestions still welcome!

Chester is Nice, Southport?

might be a bit late, but I stayed at StayCity Duke Street a couple of years ago, a 2 bedroom place, and it was perfect for what I needed and fairly well priced.
