Can anyone please advise of where is the best place to stay to do the touristy stuff in London? Children 5 and 7 and 2 parents who have no clue of the best place with travel links.

What kind of things are you wanting to do? Parks, Buckingham Palace, Museums, London Eye, Tower of London, West End show?

The Premier Inn at County Hall (near the London Eye) is often suggested on here but haven't stayed there myself. It's quite central with Waterloo nearby and Embankment, just over the river where you can get on quite a few different tube lines. There's also a park nearby with a play area.

You might like to take a trip down the river, it would be a good way of seeing some sights if DC need a rest.

If you get accommodation fairly central you might be able to go back to your room after lunch for a rest. We used to do that when our DC were younger. Go out fairly early, back after lunch and have a rest/snooze and then go out again later. It worked for us but I guess that depends on what you have planned etc.

Or were you looking for somewhere that's further out of London that you could get a tube in each day?

There's loads of Premier Inns in the touristy spots in London, and you'll never be too far from a tube station either so it's easy to get around. You want one ideally that's only a few mins walk from the tube with your kids being quite young.

@JennyWreny @HalloumiGeller Thank you. Definitely want to see the sights that they've seen on episodes of Paddington. 🤣 Hopefully do the London Eye.
I'm not sure about a show. Has anybody visited the Shrek experience???

How are you getting to London (car, train, coach, plane) and where will you be arriving.

Ok so we're coming by train and are coming into Kings Cross.
