Mini break inspo with DD1

I have 2 days at the end of next month where I am off work and DD (16 months) won't be at the childminders and I'm hoping for some inspiration on what we can do with that time

I had thought about staying local and visiting zoos and soft play etc and that's not off my list but wondered if there was somewhere we could go together for a little mini break? If anyone has any recommendations.

Not sure if this helps but I am also an English Heritage member so could easily visit one of their sites but not sure DD would get much from that 😂

Which part of the country?

Where you're starting from would be useful so we don't suggest somewhere that will take a day to get there and back! Public transport or driving?

Chester or nearby?
there’s Delamere forest and the shire horse centre and Chester zoo, boat ride on the river……check winter opening times though!
or York if that’s not too close to home.
