Night out near Nottingham?

Hello,

My friend & I are looking to meet up half way between us, for a night out. I'm NE and she is SE, and Nottingham js around the half way point. We could meet up in the city centre which we may end up doing, but quite fancy a smaller town perhaps with a few bars/pubs and some restaurants, somewhere quite lively? Does anyone live around there and can recommend?

Nottingham is a great night out! If you go to smaller local towns you'll get small town energy tbh.
West Bridgford is best for nice bars and a couple of restaurants if you really want to be out of the city.

How about West Bridgford? It’s a nice middle class suburb a few miles south of Nottingham city centre. There are lots of nice restaurants & smart cafe bars along the pedestrianised high st, and many people sit outside to eat in the summer.
