Hi all, would be grateful for your recommendations and tips!
I'm based in Dublin so a day trip to London is very doable and I feel the need for some culture.
I would be grateful for your gallery recommendations (I am not a fan of modern art) and key museums (history and literature in particular)
Also, for a day trip which of the airports has the quickest link to central London? I'm thinking Heathrow? Thanks!

The Heathrow Express takes 15 mins to get to Paddington on a good day. You could then get the Elizabeth Line to Tottenham Court Road (only a couple of stops away) and walk to the National Galley and Portrait Gallery. From the National Gallery, it’s about a 20 min walk to the British Museum, which is probably the best history museum. From there it’s a short walk back to Tottenham Court Road.

I would head straight for the British Museum if you're interested in history, and do your research ahead of time so you focus on what interests you. If you have enough time and energy the British Library is nearby for their excellent free exhibition "Treasures of the British Library "
