Where in Scotland for anniversary trip?

Special wedding anniversary this summer. Where would you stay for 2 nights in Scotland, no more than 2/2.5 hours drive from Dundee area? Budget up to £1/1.5k. Thanks!

Edinburgh is my favourite place, and somewhere you could splash out for that budget. Nice hotel, dinner, shopping or other experience.

Shloss Roxburghe near Kelso if looking for spa type hotel?

Fonab Castle has an amazing waterside setting, woodland spa, stunning rooms and superb dining.

Not been but stay nearby. Feedback from those I know visiting has been very positive. Pool looks fanatstic. Some lovely towns nearby - Kelso, Melrose - with independent shops and good walks, if you're into the outdoors.

Gleneagles, Old Course Hotel, or Torridon

Thanks all. Roxburghe on list. Torridon looks amazing but a bit further than we’d like to drive. We go to St Andrews a lot and have been to Gleneagles before. Considering Fife Arms in Braemar. Any views?

hear great thinks about Fife Arms though not been yet myself. going to Fonab end of Jan and really looking forward to that.
