So location is fixed but where can we go to celebrate. Two of us. Night out, no budget. Somewhere to eat, somewhere to drink, maybe somewhere with music.

Any ideas?

I’ve not been myself, but a lot of people go to The Ivy

If your budget is high, Opheem restaurant (Michelin Star) is sublime.

Land restaurant (vegan fine dining) is excellent and the food is very reasonably priced.

Lovely thank you will take a look

Tbh most Birmingham bars are not much fun if you’re there in the evening at a weekend. Maybe the Grand hotel for cocktails?

That's what I'm worried about lol maybe we lean into it and book a vip table somewhere 😂

That does sound nice, had looked there when looking where to stay

The Botanist is really nice, good food and cocktails. The Alchemist is also good for cocktails.

I think this might depend on your definition of 'a good night out' and mostly your age

Where I might go and where my adult dc might go, are going to be different venues.

pinkfondu · 07/01/2024 11:25

Haha very true, give me both

Orelle at 103 Colmore Row

WhatdoIdoTree · 07/01/2024 11:29

Hello! So on a work night out we went to Albert Schloss! It was excellent, live music etc. nearby is Dishoom for food! Or if want high end Michelin we looked at Opheen and Adam’s. But we went for Dishoom in the end.

BrumBrumBum · 07/01/2024 11:38

Agree on Grand Hotel and Adams if you are looking top end.

Six by Nico has opened recently on Colmore Row if you want a foodie night out.
I like cocktails at the Fox and Chance and Vagabonds for wine.

Of course Albert Schloss if you want a late night and music. And if you are really up for it, you can then head down Broad Street see where you end up! Just be prepared for underage drunks and sticky floors!

Or you could go to the Jewellery Quarter - St Paul's House, the Church, Jam House if you want live music.

pinkfondu · 07/01/2024 17:45

Turns out the grand is where we are staying Shockso cocktails there and will look at the other recommendations thank you so much x

Unless you’re 20 or under, or one of those orange ladies who likes to squeeze yourself into skin tight beige jersey, I’d stay well away from Broad Street!

Albert’s Schloss attracts a lot of young blokes at the weekend. I don’t think it would be much fun for a couple.

Helenloveslee4eva · 07/01/2024 18:48

opheem , Adams , purnells for an award winning meal then yep the grand for cocktails

TedWilson · 07/01/2024 18:50

The Jam House. Book the second sitting then you can keep the table and go down to the dance floor.
