UK summer holidays with teens

Me, DH and DD13. Maybe one of her friends. Will be one week in the summer holidays.

We've always just done Haven/Parkdean or similar, caravan or chalet, was perfect when the kids were little. However, we stayed in a holiday park in Cornwall last year, and as lovely as it was, my DD has absolutely outgrown that kind of holiday.

Can anyone suggest an alternative? We don't have a lot of money at the moment and we're saving for a super nice villa holiday with extended family in 2025, hence not looking at going abroad.

For full disclosure - we love walking and beaches, but not sporty. My DH will absolutely not camp.

Maybe a city break but with access to the countryside? Edinburgh maybe (you can avoid or aim for the festival depending on what you want). Stay at Portobello as there is a beach there with restaurants etc. But then travel in for museums, festival, theatres etc etc

I would also suggest a Citybreak. Edinburg? York?

We stayed a week in Stirling a couple of years ago. Easy to go to places with a mix of outdoors (walks, nothing more), historical places and Edinburgh.
