What to do when travelling via Uber

Hello. We will be travelling into London shortly and wondered what to do when using an Uber.

We can't take the car seats as it would mean carrying them around all day with the strollers and not practical.

Would love to know how you use a cab/ Uber if you do not have a car seat or wish not to take one

How old are your children?

I prefer not to get uber with my son as they aren't insured for children

Where are you travelling to and from?

Do you mean travelling into London in an Uber or around London in an Uber? If the latter use a black cab instead, then you can just wheel the buggy straight in and leave the kid in it. You can order them on Gett just like you would an Uber. Also car seats are not needed in taxis. There are different rules for how to seat the kids based on age. In any case Uber is also awful in London these days fyi so you might struggle to get one when you need it....

We don’t use them and instead use a black cab so the youngest can stay in their pushchair.

Oh brilliant - reckon I could get into a black cab with a twin stroller?

If it's a side by side you'd have to collapse it to get it in then put it up and put the children in - there would be space for it if there's only two adults.

In line no problem. If it’s side by side you’d probably need to collapse it to get it in then put it back up inside.

That's a great help thank you

My son has a special needs pram and it fits in black cab but it's a bit tight getting in so a double likely not.
