Hoping locals might be able to help please.

DH and I have a very rare weekly in Oxford coming up. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant for lunch that is walking distance from the main shopping area please?

I visit Oxford a few times a year and my last two visits have included lunch at Sticks n Sushi: https://sticksnsushi.com/en/restaurants/london/oxford and Victors: https://www.victors.co.uk/venues/oxford/?utmsource=google&utmmmedium=search&utmcampaign=gmb. depends whether yo7 like sushi or not though.

I've also had a lovely meal at Thaikun: www.thaikhun.co.uk/thai-restaurant/oxford/

Highly recommend cookies from Bens Cookies in the indoor market, and there's also a rooftop bar there as well: www.tvcoxford.co.uk

Thanks so much. Not sure on the sushi as DH not that into it. Will check out the other one though.

Anyone else any other suggestions too? We may get to go more than once (the excitement!)

We've been here a few times and it's lovely, always as a day visitor though so not sure how close it is to other stuff! www.geesrestaurant.co.uk/

Gees is a little way out of the centre but definitely worth it.

Quod on the high street is massive but very pleasant dining

I haven't been there for donkeys years but the Chiang Mai Kitchen always used to be a great Thai restaurant.

Pierre Victoire in Little Clarendon Street is lovely.

Well, the main shopping area is the Westgate shopping centre - so one of the rooftop restaurants might be a good choice. I’m ridiculously fond of the Alchemist branch there; the food is passable and you could always indulge in some non-alcoholic cocktails if it’s too early in your day for gin.

The Old Parsonage is nice and does traditional type food. Quite interesting a d quirky inside. https://www.oldparsonagehotel.co.uk/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=local&utm_campaign=hotel-oldparsonage

I would also recommend The Cherwell Boathouse, but it is a bit further out, often does a set menu and it’s on the river. You could get a taxi.
