How can Easyjet domestic get away with always being delayed?

I regularly fly (well, once every 1-2 months) from London to Scotland via Easyjet. Without fail, the final flights of the day are delayed and the only explanation I can come up with is that they’re trying to squeeze too many flights in to one day, and they can’t turn the plane around at each end quickly enough (and due to this sometimes miss their slots then blame air traffic control for being told to wait for another slot).

Ive stopped booking the (more convenient) last flight of the day as I’ve missed my final train connection at the other end too many times and been left trying to get home alone at 1am via taxi.

Even the second-last flights are always 1-2hrs delayed. Sometimes I get notification at 8am that my 8pm flight is delayed.

How do they get away with it? I know I keep rebooking with them but it’s the only option and I would vote with my feet if I could. At some point they surely have to answer for their poor planning?

Same for NI, I think they push back internal flights to accommodate international take offs and landings.

Evening flights to any destination are more prone to delays because they don't build any slack into the timetable

It’s exactly why you say, too many flights with too short turnaround time! I used to do the same domestic flight every week and without fail it was 30min late due to the “late arrival of the inbound aircraft from Faro”……to the point where I had to wonder why they didn’t just schedule it for 30min later!
