Cheltenham..where to stay and what to do for a weekend?

Dh is taking me away for a weekend for my birthday (apr),first time we'v been away for 6 yrs without children ,we thought Cheltenham would be nice (not too far a drive from us)Anyone know of some decent hotels/b&b's and is it ok for a evening out?

WE stayed in Hotel du Vin (Moet Suite) last month for our trip away without dd. It was FAB.

Cowley Manor is THE posh hotel to stay in in Cheltenham.

I also love the Hotel du Vin chain but haven't stayed in the Cheltenham one.

I think there are lots of good restaurants there too so you should be fine in the evenings.

The restaurant Lumiere is fantastic (Michelin starred).
