Xmas Eve to Boxing Day break

I've had excellent travel suggestions on this site before so I'm coming back to the hive for ideas!

We are three adults, looking for somewhere UK-based to spend Christmas. One of us is widowed and it's the first Christmas since, one is spending the first Christmas without their now grown up children, one is opting not to join extended family, so we all want to celebrate Christmas to an extent but all want a change from the "norm" of being at home with family as that's not available to us.

Requirements:
The stay must be for at least Christmas Eve to Boxing Day and we'll be happy with just that, but it could also be an extra day or two either end of that.
All food must be included (or available on-site) on Christmas Day, and ideally also all breakfasts included each day.
We would like there to either be nice scenery (eg for a Boxing Day walk) or some Christmas activity available to do one day (eg lights display to walk around).
Anywhere in the UK except Brighton and Birmingham where two of us are from.

Any suggestions? Where have you all had Christmas breaks? Where would you recommend?

I’d go to Grassmere. DH and I would love to. Lancrigg hotel is in a very pretty location.

Oulton Hall Leeds

All stunning scenery

Thanks for these suggestions. I'm pouring a glass of wine and will look them all up.

What about a central London hotel?

The city is almost car free on those days and you can walk and safely cycle through parks, past famous landmarks, along the river and the Christmas lights are stunning

Crieff Hydro. You might even get some snow?

I'd go to London.

Christmas lights, lovely walks through the parks or for sightseeing, theatre, ice skating (if you like that kind of thing). I think that would be great.

You forgot the most important thing, an open fire and a cracking bottle of red.

Oh and a good book.

On reflection Peebles Hydro is more of an adult hotel than Crieff Hydro.

Depends on your budget but I would go to Gleneagles or The Balmoral in Edinburgh.
