Whinfell or Sherwood Center Parcs?

Currently on a trip to Whinfell Center Parcs with 8 and 12 year old DCs, have had a great time and looking to go back next year. Only off-putting thing is that I've ran into a few people here that I know from back home, which is mostly ok, but would prefer if that weren't the case!

Where I'm from it's a local holiday and Whinfell is our closest CP. Sherwood is the next closest and we're debating trying there next summer, which will be the start of July most likely.

Anyone done both sites and can advise on which is better? If Whinfell seems the best we might just go with it again!

We’re in the middle of both, distance wise. We prefer Whinfell overall, but Sherwood comes a close second. The only thing that Sherwood does better is the rapids! I find the overall park itself better at Whinfell. Love the fact everything is in the domed area, whereas at Sherwood it’s not, it’s more of a little village square.

I’ve been to both and prefer Whinfell.

We found this at Whinfell.

It felt like 95% of Scottish families with toddlers were there one week, ready to bump into me while I was coming out of the shower or chasing after one of my little darlings who had decided to scream the place down at that moment.

We've stopped going now they're at school and the price is eyewatering. I quite fancy trying the Irish center parcs for more of a 'holiday' feel but we've also discovered European holiday parks and now we're never looking back.

We went to Sherwood recently having done Whinfell several times and I think it depends.

They are sort of much the same but for example on our last day at Sherwood we booked a cabana which has a little private pool, that was really amazing. Not sure that warranted the extra hours of travelling though!

I'm glad we did try Sherwood for a change; it was great but still just CP if you see what I mean!
