Has anyone been on a haven holiday? If so where and what is it like?

Looking for affordable term time holiday to go on with DC, i like the look of the indoor pools as DC would be happy to go to the pool everyday.I wondered if they were really like the pictures or do you get what you pay for? Can't afford Centreparcs

Have been to a couple. Quay west in Wales is nice. Berwick ones are OK, definately more 'lively', police were there twice in the week we were there. They are good to use as a base and for the occasional entertainent and kids discos (kids love the characters etc). Bad points are some vans are near the complex thus music till early hours, the 'extras' which are pushed on you in the clubs are a rip off as are drinks and food and £2 for a go on a trampoline £5 for a pic of your child with character etc. Bingo is pushed on you and if you don't get to the showbar before 7pm there is often nowhere to sit. The swim pools can be busy and outdoor ones often closed. Overall we enjoyed the holidays (and the kids LOVE it) we have had and would go again but go with an open mind and to somewhere with lots to do off park.

Hated Haven - stayed at the Hastings one. We then stayed at Park Resorts in Camber, East Sussex and loved it so much we brought a caravan there which we now rent out. My thread is here. As I only rent out to friends and family (musnetters are in my extended family!!) it is a lot cheaper than going direct. The first two weeks of the Summer holidays are currently free, if you're interested.

How about Hoseasons? They do a range of holiday parks - some lively, some quieter ones, many seem to have nice swimming pools. I haven't been on one of their holidays yet but have booked this summer after looking at their brochure.

We went to Lydstep beach in SW Wales and it was amazing. Almost every caravan has a direct sea view and the pool was clean (though the changing rooms could have been a lot better). Was a really nice site with loads of trees and its own private beach to boot. Have great memories of DS not being tired so going down to the beach at 11pm so he could do a bit more rock climbing to wear himself out.

There is loads to do in the surrounding area too and the beaches are to die for

we've stayed in a few and thery've varied. best was devon cliffs, worst was doniford bay. devon cliffs was really great, clean and lots to do. jphn fowler in ilfracombe was pretty good too. we're trying parkdeam in croyde bay this year.
excuse typing, one handed as feeding ds!

Cannot recommend Haven Ayr. Dirty, understaffed and very poor for pre-school children.

Wrote a long letter of complaint with suggestions,...still awaiting a reply many moons on!

we've been to a Haven twice, Presthaven Sands and another one in wales that i can't remember the name of now. The first one wasn't very good but the caravan was clean at least. The second one was horrible. It was a chalet and was grubby, depressing and horrible. The facilities were rubbish and restaurant dirty etc. I ended up back with haven as we booked one of those sun 9.50 holidays so didn't realise it was a haven at the time. Would never stay in a haven again even for 9.50. We have been to a Park Resorts in Norfolk which was really lovely. They're a much better option and about the same price wise I would have thought.
