Good pub with food near Henley-on-Thames?

We want to meet some friends for a long lunch and Henley is in between where we all live. Criteria are:

Cosy pub
Preferably sofas to lounge on after lunch and chat for ages
somewhere open all day that won't kick us out
Good food
Parking

Not Michelin standard but not any old shit either. Recommendations welcome! Thanks.

There’s a coppa club in sonning (approx 15 mins from Henley), or the Bottle and Glass at Binfield Heath which both might fit the bill.

Coppa Club in Sonning

George & Dragon in Wargrave

The Bull at Bell Street in Henley is really lovely

The Golden Ball at Middle Assenden (just at the end of the Fair Mile on the road out towards Oxford). Really talented young chef who trained under Clare Smyth - fabulous food and a lovely atmosphere. Went there a couple of weeks ago and had one of the best lunches I can remember.

Oh some lovely ideas here, off to google, thanks!

Crooked Billet at Stoke Row?

The Coppa club igloos look great, are they?

The Bull in Wargrave. Has a gorgeous hidden garden which has covered sections in winter. Car park across the road.

Think the pub in Shiplake has opened up again too.

Spoilt for choice! Aside from Bottle & Glass, Crooked Billet, Bull at Wargrave I'll throw in The Crown and The Shoulder of Mutton at Playhatch, I'd avoid the Plough at Shiplake - well out of budget and not that good VFM, the Baskerville has reopened this summer and the food choices are expanding so not yet qualified to comment but feedback from the locals are it's pretty good.
You also have The Frog at Skirmett and the Stag & Huntsman at Hambleden

Yes they are cool! Have to book in advance though and they do take a deposit in case of cancellation.

Thanks everyone for such great suggestions, I’ve bookmarked them all and enjoyed looking! I have booked an igloo.

The Yew Tree in Frieth is also really good.

The White Hart in Nettlebed; 4 miles outside Henley. Lovely food, staff and atmosphere.

The Baskerville is being refurbished at the moment and they have an outside bar and so wouldn’t recommend!

All the other suggestions are good. Lots of local people on here!

Check out The Flower Pot near Hambleden Lock, it's under new ownership as of last year.

The Little Angel on the edge of Henley one of my fav pubs.

Lovely food, very friendly and you could have a walk along the river if the mood took you.

Baskerville has expanded from pizza, I had very good feedback from Carol and Mark (Corner Stores) re the summer menu. However it is pizza only on Mondays https://www.thebaskerville.com/wp-content/uploads/BaskervilleMenuJul23.pdf

I suggest check before booking. Still not been myself (am wrong side of river and forget they are open)

Have you tried their food/got any feedback? Used to like this pub a lot a few years ago.

It’s literally closed as of this week apparently (I went here for a drink last week…) my friend’s daughter was working behind the outside bar whilst home from uno but she’s gone back now. They were saying how mad it is that they at closing the inside now it’s getting towards winter!

i didn’t know Carol had a good word to say about anything 🤣

We went to Coppa club and it was great, exactly what we were looking for, we had a 6 hour lunch. Thanks for the recommendations.
