Going to look at UWC in Bristol for an open day. Just looking at hotels and wondering what area would be nice to stay in?

The UWE campus is in Frenchay so you'll probably want to be in East/ North Bristol.
Somewhere like Fishponds, Stapleton, Horfield (although traffic) even Downend. Avoid the soulless premier inns off the ring road.

@F0XCUBs or you could name the hotels and I could give you a brief description of the area?

Clifton is a nice area to stay if , if you mena generally in Bristol and not restricted to where UWE is. It doesn't take long to get from one side to the other either so if it is for you to have somewhere nice to experience Bristol then I would stay there.

You could look at staying on the Harbourside area. You would be handy for buses out to UWE. Probably not good if you are bringing a car, although The Bristol Hotel which is right on the water has a car park. Lots of places to eat and drink.

Stay in the centre and get the bus up to the campus. I spent a lot of time on that bus when I went to UWE, so it will give your DC the full experience if they decide to go there 😁
I like Brooks guest house in St Nicholas Market.

We stayed at The Bristol Hotel, on the Harbourside, recently. Great hotel and super handy location to see the sights of Bristol. Would be more interesting than staying near campus, I reckon.

I'm a local so don't use the hotels , but for convenience there is a Holiday Inn virtually next door and just off the M32.
Just be aware that there is a congestion charge for some cars in Central Bristol as well as residents only parking zones.
