Somewhere to stay in London

I'm currently spending two days a week working in London, and staying in a lot of Travelodges as a relatively cheap way of doing so. It has reminded me how much I like London, and how much I enjoy going to the theatre - something which is hard to do when the last direct train leaves at 9.00pm. So, I'm trying to find a reasonably priced central London hotel which I could stay at on a regular basis. Or a club - but the only one I seem to be entitled to join is the University Women's Club. I want somewhere clean, with wi-fi, and relatively central. In my ideal world, there'd be a little place in Bloomsbury or Marylebone or Waterloo...

Go to the theatre more locally?!?

I usually aim for matinées if going to the theatre in London (maybe once or twice a year) - train, lunch, theatre, train.

What about trying the Premier Inn Hubs?

We've stayed here

SACO Holborn - Lambs Conduit Street

And found it gave us a feeling of having a proper home base but right in the thick of things. SACO have other sites but this is the one we've tried and can recommend.

Point A hotels are cheap for London. (£90-£120 pn) They have a few that would be suitable for you location wise.

Some of my colleagues use the CW one for work if there's nothing else available for our allowed budget. (I tend to use the Doubletree just over the river as quite like the little boat trip, and it's usually cheap at £100 ish - but not handy for where you want to be.)

I think you can sign up for free and get a small discount.

She’s working in London though, and wants the variety of theatre London offers

Have a look at Soho friends OP - it’s a semi-membership of soho house that gives you access to bedrooms

Mimis in Soho is cute and affordable

Thank you everyone - lots of good ideas to investigate! In the meantime, I'm heading for Travelodge Finsbury Park tonight - that'll be my 5th...
