'Proper sea' near Grange over Sanda

I'm staying in Grange over Sands and the tide is permanently out. I didn't realise this would be the case when I booked to stay in this area.

Obviously the lakes are lovely I'm just hankering for 'proper' sea- waves crashing on the shore.

Is there anywhere in this area that will have this or is it all the same round here? Happy to drive north.

You might find what you’re looking for in St Bees or further up the coast that way, although it will depend a bit on how high high tide is.
