We're a family of 4 with two children just almost 2 and almost 4 years old and we have some time free for a UK break in September 8-11/12 for 3/4 nights. We want somewhere coastal, ideally with a hot tub but wouldn't rule out somewhere that doesn't have one. Can anyone recommend accommodation and actually somewhere to go! Need to have something to occupy the kids as well as the beach. Not feeling very decisive. Budget is £400-500. Mumsnet hive mind, do your thing please! I'm a rubbish planner 😩🤣

We're renting a 2 bedroomed cottage with a hot tub, 100m from a huge sandy beach for £600 in 2 weeks time. Its in Brittainy. You get loads more for your money in France. We've paid for the crossing in Tesco vouchers.

@MrsSkylerWhite happy to hear the suggestions. We just moved house this year so budget is super tight but will be better next year.”

Burgh Island in Devon, The Nare Head and Fowey Hall in Cornwall (though subsequently re-read your travel requirements so Cornwall may be too far).

Hoseasons do canny breaks!

Slightly over with hot tub at £585 if you could stretch? But have nice lodges without well within your budget!

(Feeling in need of a holiday now! Just looked at The Nare Head website and seems it’s now just The Nare. Fantastic hotel)

Shorefield Country Park or Hoburne Bashley in the New Forest might fit the bill - you’d need to go up to approx £650 for a hot tub though. It’s near enough to Paultons Park which is popular with toddlers.

cherryassam · 27/08/2023 15:33

Otherwise, I’d be looking at the Norfolk / Suffolk coast

Hoseasons Hemsby Beach has caravans with hot tubs under £500: https://www.hoseasons.co.uk/lodges/hemsby-beach-holiday-park-hems/gold-2-plus-caravan-spa-lp15663?start=08-09-2023&adult=2&child=2&nights=3

Haven have short breaks in budget - book direct on their site, generally east coast is cheaper

You probably wouldn’t even get one night at Burgh Island for the OP’s budget. I wouldn’t be taking toddlers there anyway. A waste of money.

What about somewhere near Beamish? Northumberland is also great.

Butlins Minehead. My colleagues' kids love it apparently

I've also heard great things! A GP mum at school highly recommended it having been 2 or 3 times.

Away resorts Filey can get a 2 bed cottage under £400.

caringcarer · 27/08/2023 23:28

Bridlington have Blue dolphin which is a Haven site. Lots to do on site for DC. A huge indoor swimming pool with flumes, shutes and floats. Tiger Club with tigers that dance. Free kids play clubs so you could leave them for a few hours to do arts and crafts under qualified supervision. Caravans are good. Beach very close by.

caringcarer · 27/08/2023 23:29

Filey is only a few miles from Bridlington so same safe beaches.

The Landal site in Cornwall had hot tub lodges with sea view. There is a pool and soft play on site. It’s a quiet site and very suitable for small children. I think you can book through Hoseseasons but also direct.
