Want to go to Bournemouth this summer and stay in a nice hotel. Need somewhere really clean and not too faded, with space in room for 2 DS's aged 7 and 4, preferably with indoor swimming pool. Any recommendations?

we stayed in the Marriott last year

For Indoor pools - I have stayed at Menzies Carlton (indoor and outdoor pools) or Manzies East Cliff next door has outdoor pool and you can use Carlton for indoor. If it is a short break check the website they do good free kids offers - went over half term just with the children as DH wasn't off and it was very good value. Have also been to Marriott but rooms are smaller so need a suite for kids which makes it more pricey. Hilton used to have a pool - was somewhat run down but has been taken over by Golden Tulip I think and is currently closed for a refurb. Also have stayed at Norfolk Royale which has an indoor pool but I thought was pretty ropey for the monies. Hope that helps

Thanks for your recommendations. The Menzies sounds good - what sort of beds do they put in the room for the children? And is the East Cliff a good location?

The two Menzies (Carlton and East Cliff) are together on the front at East Cliff - so Zig Zag path to the beach and overlook the Sea. About 5 minutes walk to the pier.

Beds Wise - I had a standard room at the carlton this half term which was a large King (3 pillow Width) and double Sofa plus large bathroom. In the East Cliff I have stayed in family rooms that are two distinct rooms but as one room and sold as a family room i.e not adjoining but one room leading from the other - the second room had a couple of beds and a sofa. Website is www.menzies-hotels.co.uk/

Has anyone else stayed in the Marriott Highcliff recently, as the website says it was renovated last year?

They were doing the renovations when we were there last summer - they had already done the interior of the hotel and were working on the exterior
