Restaurant in London for 2 x three year olds

... and parents, of course.

Jungle / Rainforest cafe has closed and I think the food wasn't meant to be amazing either... but the experience was good (for the kids)!

We're going to London close to Christmas as a treat for our children. Two families (mum, dad and three year old in each).

We're going to a matinee theatre performance in Covent Garden but then afterwards will need to go somewhere for dinner, and my restaurant knowledge is very 'client entertainment' focused rather than 'wow the kids would love this' focused.

I'm thinking maybe Sarastro (if it still exists?!) but does anyone have any other central London (ideally Covent Garden / Soho) ideas if places with good food that are also young child friendly / entertaining?

Oh maybe a good shout! I'd bizarrely forgotten China Town was right there. Thank you!

Just went for dumplings with my nearly 3YO and he absolutely loved them so China Town definitely a great shout.

Very sad to hear about the Rainforest Cafe. So many memories of being there as a kid.

Inamo has touchscreen tables loaded with games. Always a winner!
Benihana is especially entertaining for kids because it has the performance cooking on the flames. It also has a kids menu and our dc have been made to feel very welcome each time we’ve been.
If you like the dumpling idea, Ugly Dumpling down Carnaby Street is great for kids. My dc especially loved the Nutella dessert dumplings! We also like Ping Pong dim sum.

In all honesty at that age you might be better with a familiar chain that you know they both like. When younger, mine used to spend so much energy being good in the theatre that they were not necessarily at their best post show and just needed feeding quickly. That has changed now with my eldest as she’ll actively enjoy trying something different and seeing the meal as an experience but that has taken a while to get to that .
