Sudden panic that ds passport ran out last month and we fly to Scotland from England in 2 weeks.

we have time for an emergency passport renewal but will cost a fortune in travelling to the appointment and the passport renewal fee.

can children fly internally without a passport? The rest of us will have a passport and we can bring his birth certificate.

propect of getting a 5 hour train to Liverpool is filling me with dread

You don't need a passport to fly from England to Scotland if you're a UK National.

Actually it depends on the airline. (Check return as well if different from out outbound).

If he can't get on the flight then you could get the train to Scotland. Passport not required then.

Thank you!

We flew from Luton to Edinburgh recently with Easyjet and were not asked at all for ID. I would take the expired one with you just in case but they only wanted to see ID for those that weren't UK nationals.
