Looking to book a few days out in the summer holidays within 1-2 hours of Hampshire with 3DDs (10-14).

Odd days so not necessarily 3 in a row (2 days 1 week, 2 days the next). Any recommendations for decent days out... we have a possible day trip to London but looking for other ideas 😊

What sort of thing do they enjoy?
Hampton Court Palace? New Forest Wildlife Park? Splashdown in Poole?
There’s loads of stuff within 2 hours!

Brockenhurst - go by train and hire bikes to explore the forest.

Ride a Breezer open top bus from Bournemouth over the Sandbanks Ferry to Swanage. On certain days you can ride the steam train to Wareham to connect with the main line back to Bournemouth.

Mudeford, crabbing on the quay, ferry to Hengistbury Head for a picnic.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard plus Gunwharf Quays for outlet shopping and food.

Portsmouth dockyard, I believe the ticket is valid a year, there's plenty there for at least 2 days worth. I'm going in a few weeks

Lulworth Cove/Durdle door?

SweetSakura · 22/07/2023 09:14

New forest water park? Mine love the inflatable obstacle courses and you can also lake swim/picnic/try wakeboarding

SweetSakura · 22/07/2023 09:15

Try paddleboarding? I like woodmill in Southampton for absolute beginners.

Or stoked watersports in stokes bay if you want to try Sea paddleboarding while supervised and supported. They are a lovely team

Or I think it's prime paddling in alverstoke where you can hire a giant paddleboard

SweetSakura · 22/07/2023 09:17

Or punting in Oxford. We took an assortment of teens/tweens earlier this year and they really enjoyed it

Loads to do in Portsmouth. Dockyard is easily a days worth. Seafront with fun fair and arcade. Portsmouth city museum. Cumberland house natural history museum. Portchester castle. Southsea castle. Gunwharf outlet. If you're feeling adventurous get the hovercraft or cat over to the Isle of Wight.
